To the Heartbroken and the Hopeful,

We’re Georgina and Leah, and we’ve walked the winding path of grief and loss—just like you. We know how heavy it can feel. But we also know the power of music and movement to bring light back into the darkest days.

At Grief Disco, we don’t dance to forget. We dance to remember, to honour, and to reconnect—with ourselves, with joy, and with each other. Music helps us shake off the weight of sorrow, even if just for a moment, and reminds us that life still holds space for movement, laughter, and healing.

Since October 2024, Grief Disco has resonated with many, leading to features on platforms such as BBC Radio 4, BBC Radio 2, ITV and feature on the BBC News. Our events have been celebrated for their unique approach to healing.

What is Grief Disco?

When my son died, I found myself wanting to dance.

And somewhere in the pulse of dance music, I realised something - grief and joy can live in the same moment.

That realisation became the seed of Grief Disco.

Together, Leah Sian Davies and I - the co-founders of Grief Disco - created something wonderful.

Leah's gorgeous website is here.

A Grief Disco is a space to remember our people through music, movement, and meaning.

It’s where we can cry, dance, and laugh -sometimes all within the same song.

It’s not about “getting over” grief.

It’s about creating a space where love is allowed to move, where stories can be shared, and where light finds its way back in.

Every Grief Disco is unique, but they all share one thing:

the courage to bring love and loss into the same room -and to remember that both belong.

Now, through this live online course, you can learn how to bring this healing movement to your own community.

Our Story

We love Grief Discos so much - the energy, the release, the light that comes when people realise that they can hold their grief and their joy in the same space.

Every time we see someone dance, cry, laugh, and remember their person in the same breath, it reminds us: this is healing.

But we can’t do it alone.

There are too many hearts that need this kind of space. Too many towns and communities where grief is hidden away, where people are aching to remember together - and to find joy again.

That’s why we’ve created the Grief Disco Training Course - a live 90-minute online training that teaches you how to bring this powerful work to life, wherever you are.

Would you like to run a Grief Disco?

We’d love to show you how.
